SuperZings Hideout

MagicBox Toys, 2016

After the success of the first SuperZings series, I was commissioned to design the hero and villain hideouts for the second series.

I designed them using two cylinders, which allowed the tower to be opened and closed. In the process, I discovered that I could add an extra colour at no cost simply by drilling holes in the outer cylinder cap, exposing the inner one in a different colour.

Lock system

It was necessary to iterate the locking system several times on the pre-production stage. We needed a lock that was strong enough so that it would not open inadvertently while offering little resistance to opening by children.

TEAM COLLABORATION

Stickers

I generated the theoretical development of the sticker and forwarded it to the illustration department.

Next, graphic designer Marcel Masgeu worked on these illustrations for the different hideouts.

Color

From CAD to production

Once the project was given the green light, I worked with the operations department to start the production process.
